POINT CARDS WORTH HAVING | SAVVY STUDENT

Being a student, you want to get the most out of your money and points cards are one of the easiest ways to enjoy money off products / food. Here is my guide to the point cards worth having for you!

Boots

Everyone shops at boots whether it’s for toiletries, makeup, skincare or even food so why not get a boots card and earn points every time you go? Boots often send out exclusive offers for cardholders, which include additional point offers and % off. I like to save up all my points throughout the year and then buy myself a perfume at Christmas. Last year I treated myself to Marc Jacobs Daisy and the year before I got the Black Opium perfume by YSL and they didn’t cost me a penny!

Superdrug

Just like boots, everyone has to pop in to get something they need. What most students don't know is that superdrug offers 10% student discount when you use your Superdrug point card and show your Uni ID. It's a win win situation, you earn points whilst shopping to save in the future whilst getting a discount there and then.

Nandos

Who doesn't love Nandos? With a Nandos points card you get points every time you go and depending on how many points you earn depends on what free thing you can get, from sides to half a chicken or a full on meal, for free!

Subway

Food always tastes better when it's free doesn't it? If you get a Subway card or download their app, just like Nandos you can earn points every time you go and then treat yourself to a free drink/snack, 6" or footlong - depending on how many point's you've saved!

Costa

Students love coffee so why not collect points each time you go and get treated to a free one? You can also use your points on the food if you're feeling peckish.

Tesco Clubcard

When I first moved away and come to uni I signed up for a Tesco Clubcard. You scan your clubcard once you've done your shopping and then they send you out vouchers in the post. I've recently received vouchers offering me £8 off when I spend £40. Obviously £40 for a weekly shop for one person is a lot so maybe do a joint shop with a housemate or a friend.

Showcase & Odeon Cinemas

Going to the cinema can be a nice break from uni work and doesn't break the bank too much. Showcase offers student deals when you show your student ID however you can also sign up for a showcase 'insider' card and earn points when you buy food or drink and then you can use these points towards cheaper tickets. Odeon do a similar card where you earn 10 points for every £1 you spend which you can spend on tickets, food and drink.

Happy saving!
